My children, Chelsea age 5 and twins Connor and Benjamin age 2, love ferrets and bunnies. We found it while looking up ferrets. They thought the story was very cute! : ) My daughter wanted to say we have a puppy named Tre and a kitty named Flour. She was wondering if there are anymore stories about Fred and Benny?

I have a very mixed set of friends too – some from two different high schools, some from places I’ve worked, others were picked up along the way. I used to worry that a gathering of all these personalities might end either in disaster or boredom. Then I invited everyone I knew to my wedding and the opposite was true. Now I don’t care – they’re adults and they all know how to communicate.

There have been so many times that I’ve held my tongue and there have been an equal number of times where I said something I wish I hadn’t. There’s a quote by Simonides: “I have often regretted my speech, never my silence.”

I don’t necessarily agree with him, but I do find that silence, though it has the terrible power to make us uncomfortable, is sacred. And in a world full of noise (radio, TV, traffic, construction, crowds, people competing to speak), sometimes silence can be golden.

As a copywriter, I try to be aware of this excess and get my message across to my audience in an informative yet concise fashion.

Did you ask your friends how they felt about the random silence? I’m curious to know what their experiences were.

Excellent advice. Also written very well and easy to understand. I’m thrilled I stumbled upon your post. I need all the help I can get. I’ll bet if I read through your old prompts you can help me with a good number of my writing weaknesses!
